Pomar was one of the first Finnish owned shoemakers to receive a GORE-TEX® license, we achieved this back in 1994. In 2012 we received the highest quality audit score ever awarded to a GORE-TEX® licensee. Today, all Pomar footwear with GORE-TEX® is made at our own factory in Pärnu, Estonia, to the highest quality standards.

GORE-TEX® also written GTX®, is a microporous membrane, laminated to the lining of the shoe. The membrane prevents water from the outside entering, while water vapour from the inside is transported out of the shoe.

GORE-TEX® ePE - NEW FOR 2022

Pomar is one of the first footwear makers to introduce GORE-TEX® expanded Polyethylene (ePE) enabling durable waterproof and breathable performance, with a lower environmental footprint.

GORE-TEX® ePE leverages a high strength-to-weight ratio creating an extremely lightweight and thin composite. When combined with Polyurethane (PU), it creates a waterproof, windproof and breathable membrane.

The combination of the ePE material and low membrane mass results in a lower carbon footprint, as measured by Higg MSI.
